Annual boiler servicing is one of those small habits that pays off in two ways: it keeps you safe, and it saves you money. Most boiler manufacturers require an annual service to keep the warranty valid, and a properly maintained boiler runs more efficiently, which means lower gas bills.
What's checked during a service
A standard service covers all the safety-critical parts of the boiler. We test the gas pressure, inspect the burner and heat exchanger, check the flue and ventilation, run combustion analysis to verify safe emissions, and look over the boiler controls. If anything's wearing out we'll let you know before it becomes a breakdown.
Standard service vs. full intensive strip-down
For boilers in regular condition, our standard service covers the safety checks and a routine clean. For older boilers, boilers with a long service gap, or units that have started to misbehave, we recommend the full intensive strip-down. That includes replacing burner gaskets and spark electrodes and a thorough internal clean.
How much does it save?
An efficient boiler can use 10–20% less gas than the same model running with worn parts and a dirty heat exchanger. Over a winter season, the saving usually covers the cost of the service several times over.
When to book
Late summer and early autumn are popular times to book, get the service done before the heating season ramps up so any issues can be sorted before you need the heating. We send a friendly reminder when your next service is due.
